Local-first by design

Nemio stores people, journal entries, reminders, relationship details, preferences, and settings locally on your device. Nemio does not create a persistent cloud archive for your personal memory data.

AI requests

AI features are used only when you make an explicit request. To answer it, Nemio securely sends your message or question and only the relevant records and limited context needed for the response, such as preferences, language, and time zone. Nemio does not send your full people and memory database with every request.

Requests are routed through a stateless Cloudflare Worker to OpenAI. Processing by these providers is subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices. We avoid absolute claims about third-party retention or processing practices; review their policies for current details.

Notifications and device protection

Notifications are optional. Daily Brief notifications do not include a person’s name or relationship detail. If you enable App Lock, Face ID authentication is handled by Apple’s system infrastructure; Nemio does not access or store your Face ID data.

Subscriptions

Apple processes payments for subscriptions. RevenueCat manages subscription status and entitlement verification and may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase status, and technical information needed to provide Pro access. Nemio does not receive your Apple ID, payment card, or billing information.

Product analytics

Nemio uses PostHog to understand how people move through onboarding, view and interact with paywalls, and use the Guided Start experience. Nemio sends a randomly generated app identifier together with limited, content-free product interaction and technical metadata, such as the app version, build number, platform, screen or placement identifier, and selected plan.

Nemio does not send journal text, prompts, people, relationship details, memories, reminder content, or other personal content to PostHog. Session replay, automatic screen capture, and advertising tracking are disabled.

Exports, imports, and deletion

You can export your data locally, including an encrypted archive option, import compatible local data, or delete all Nemio data from your device. Exported files remain in the location you choose and should be protected carefully.
